Blue Smartie

The A6 Zine of Planet Losten!

The Blue Smartie is the Zine of planet Losten. No.1 covers Phase 3 up to now...well...then anyway. No.2 is all about the Worst Exhibition in Local History, it has a DVD of the film created by Film Maker Oscar Netherway. No.3 sees the almost impossible 'Find 50' of the Isle of Wight, a very popular challenge! Where as No.4 has photographs and some concept album art work. No.5 is an amuse bouche of ideas.

Phase Books

Each one, a 340 page tour of Losten's mind...

We find ourselves in Phase Four as we read this. So find out more about the journey to this point in these 3 books :

Losten Phase One: Losten Foundry and the 21

ISBN 978-1-3999-2700-0

Join the artist Losten on a journey of learning through experiments in print and casting. This book will give you a glimpse into the mindset of a dyslexic artist and his frustration to create. Starting pre-Losten, when he was known as the mortal ‘Matthew Wade’, this book will lead you through not only the creation of the Losten Foundry but also, from beginning to end, the no infamous 21 project. If you’re lucky enough to receive/buy/find/steal or fake a piece of Losten art from this formative period, chances are it’s in here.

Losten Phase Two: Landing on Planet Losten, 365 and The Worst Exhibition in Local History

ISBN 978-7392926-1-4

The Losten movement continues! After the heady heights of Phase One comes the much anticipated sequel...Phase Two! Open this book and join Losten once again on his crazy journey, but this time, on his own planet! Gaze upon the portraits and marvel at the 365! All the side projects and main pieces are documented here too, but most of all, experience The Worst Exhibition in Local History!...Who can resist an offer like that?

Losten Phase Three: Failure and Misfortune, Blue Smartie and the Life Cull

ISBN 978-7392926-8-3

The Losten movement slowly grinds on, almost to a full stop! Here comes the disheartening... Phase Three! Sandwiched between the relatively successful Phase Two and the optimistically brilliant (we hope!) Phase Four, this book is filled with failures and unfinished projects. It is padded out with insignificant and pointless photography and reveals the secrets of the Blue Smartie.

Pseudofiction from first-time Isle of Wight author!

Isak Freeland

Doughnut-Isak Freeland

ISBN: 978-1-0666831-0-9

Foreword by Losten:

At a glance, the Isle of Wight may look a little tired, a little unloved, and feel a little backward. But look deeper, and you will discover its true inner beauty and charm.

In this book, Isak Freeland explains a lot of aspects regarding island life, as seen through the eyes of not just an observer but also as a resident. It is not your usual Isle of Wight book. I want to take this early opportunity to say that these are his own views, and they are not set out to offend or target anyone. If you are upset by what you read, he apologised in advance. If you are not, again, he apologises ahead of time that he has inadvertently missed you out. It couldn’t all be covered.

When he approached me as a friend and publisher, regarding the release of this text, my assessment was that all views are relevant, and the peaceful freedom of speech should not in any way be suppressed. The truth, history, and his opinion, in this particular case, are merging into a dark grey.

This book exists purely for entertainment and as a conceptual, thought-provoking volume. In its essence, this is a work of pseudofiction.

The Owl, the Ring and the Flying Machine

ISBN 978-1-7392926-7-6

Page Count: 30

She’s only a Red Squirrel but she’s on a mission! Can a bird, a ring and a kite really help Little Red fly? Find out in this rhyming adventure book written and illustrated by Losten. The third story from the artist that brought you a singing crab and a cat called Teapot.
